Tonteen

Tonleen was more than just a horse. She was a horse who left a lasting mark on the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Her registered name was CallTonteen Top, and she was the grand champion daughter of Prince Plaudit She was the kind of horse who could seemingly do no wrong. Beautiful, talented, willing, and full of heart,Tonteen  was truly one of those unforgettable horses.

But Tonteen’s story means even more to us today.

She is part of the reason our sanctuary was named Promise For Life Horse Sanctuary. Her life and the memories she left behind helped inspire our promise to the horses who come into our care.

And her name carries the perfect meaning:

Tonteen means “promise.”

That is exactly what we want our sanctuary to represent—a promise that these horses will never be forgotten. A promise that the horses who have spent their lives giving to people will have a safe place to enjoy their retirement. A promise that they will be cared for, respected, and loved for the rest of their lives.
